Short and sweet this week x

I love this quote from Audrey Hepburn -

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in ...miracles."

Everyone is turning pink - to acknowledge Breast Cancer month in October.

This affects us all in so many different ways so please give generously x

Spring/summer - Christmas WHAT????

I love that we are now in Spring although I was hoping that the weather would realise it! I am over all this wind, rain and snotty noses that seem to dominate winter!

I love seeing little lambs bouncing around the fields, the daffodils and regrowth of tree's and flowers.
There is one thing I just can't get my little head around - that we are all talking about summer clothes and Christmas together in one sentance! I'm a pom and although this will be my second Christmas over here, the 2 things just don't go togther.
My children are asking the questions of why does Santa wear a great big suit if it is so hot? why do all christmas cartoons/cards have snow on them?
Christmas to me has always been, snuggling in your new woolly jumper in front of the tv and roaring fire, eating too much, drinking mulled wine, twinkling lights, getting dark at 3 in the afternoon and getting cabin fever - will this ever wear off?
Wow just realised that my children will grow up thinking that sunny Christmases are the norm! WEIRD!
Do you ever get used to it?? I suppose only time will tell.

Press Launch!

This week we 'launched' offically to the press! very exciting! I am working with a lovely PR agent called Dani who has amazing ideas to push UniqueBoutique.co.nz into the limelight a little!!

I didn't want to do the normal thing of sending out a press release to the media - can you only imagine how many they get a day but wanted something that would stick out and be unique - of course!!!

So we decided on a gorgeous little posy of flowers, with a handstamped envelope with the press release enclosed attached with a gorgeous USB stick in a shape of a wooden peg again with my branding on!! Seriously cute!!
What do you think??

Been poorly this week so thought I would share some pictures from home!

This couple pair are my new baby donkeys, Rory and Ruby! who have joined gorgeous Rosie. When they first arrived both were very scared, Ruby has come on leaps and bounds! Rory follows her everywhere so hoping that it won't take him long either - its funny tho both will let the kids stroke them it's just us big folk that they seem scared of.
Poe the goat is very cheeky but a firm favourite - he is so soft and cuddly! This is the goat that I found in my kitchen when we were moving in!

Winter feeding Ruby - so cute! Our kids can climb over the fences whenever they want, although at the moment with all the mud we are going through so many changes of clothes!!

Indie and I feeding Casper the Alpaca, who is actually deaf!

Carrying the carrots - very important job - it mist definitely requires 2 people!!
In total we have 3 mini ponies, 4 alpacas, 3 donkeys, 2 goats, 2 dogs, 2 cats and lots of fish!!
Always busy - but I love it!!

Avas Tea Party

Can you believe that UniqueBoutique.co.nz has been up and running for a month! now that's crazy! It has been a complete whirlwind not that I am complaining!

Anyway I wanted to make everyone aware of http://www.avasteaparty.com/ - if you do nothing else this month, this you just have to do - NO QUESTIONS!!

Please take 10 minutes a) to read the story and b) to make a special time for your own little one's believe me after reading it you will want to anyway.

I first came across the story of Ava when searching through http://www.belleandboo.com/ for prints for my 2 girl's room's.

Just this little short post today - but one to make you think and snuggle your babies a bit more tightly!

Much love Tam x

Well, we have moved! I have gone from having loads of boxes around ready for the launch of Unique Boutique to having double around from the dreaded move! Now really I should be used to moving this being my 8th house in 5 years! my poor, poor children and very well travelled pooch!

Bella is a parsons Jack Russell (has long legs!) and is in all reality my first "baby" she now has a new Buddy - Florence, a beautiful Labradoodle! boy is she gorgeous and has settled in to our mad house perfectly!

But really apart from having a nine month old with bronchitis and a stubborn donkey refusing to get in the float and then back out of it (my husband really does have to put up with a lot!) and to finish it all, an escaped goat in the kitchen - things could of been a lot worse! sometimes I wonder if anyone else lives with this madness or if it's just me! would love to know!

Moving couldn't of happened at the worst time - school holidays! Winter - Miss 4 has been such a wonderful help, it has been an absolute delight having her from school, it has made me realise just how much I miss her when she is at school. What I mean is when we collect her from school she is tired and at weekends she is recovering from the week. So to have her off for a number of weeks it is lovely to see her happy/brilliant personality. The girl is really funny - I say she takes after her mummy!!

Anyway I'm off to enjoy some more time with her before I lose her back to school!
Much love

A bit of a gush!

Not only did we launch Unique Boutique this week but we are launching / planning 4 other businesses! and if that wasn't enough we are moving and getting a puppy and 2 donkeys! The house is in total disarray! We have 3 wonderful children, 3 very naughty miniature ponies, 4 alpacas that have been sent away for halter training (that itself I could do a blog about!! trying to get them in a trailer very funny!) 1 very moody donkey, 2 cats that are on a mega killing spree and a cheeky miniature goat called Poe. Moving is not an easy task! I keep looking around, saying to myself "oh there's not much to do really" but really I am just trying to convince myself - its not working!

At least the weather has been good, so I can bundle the children up and send them into the garden to burn off some energy!

Anyway over to the gushy part...............

I have to say a huge thank you for everyone involved in UniqueBoutique.co.nz. From the moment the idea came to me until now the people I have come across have been so embracing of the idea, the suppliers I work with are just incredible and many I see as my vitural friends! Their support on facebook, email and other secret places we hang out, has been amazing! The advice given has been purely for my own benefit not just for the suppliers - see there are some just nice peolpe out there!

The web designers have also been wonderful, working very hard at making it all work, and with a brief of 'here's my logo - I don't want anything too cutesie I think what they have achieved is great so thank you Phicreate.com

And lastly, wow its starting to feel like an oscar speech, but without the tears and the alcohol!, a big thank you to my husband, Ben, who without his support it would never of happened and was my very own human punching bag! x

See you all next time!

D Day!

I know there's an about me page but come on that's just the fluffy nice version!

Well here it is launch week, d day whatever you want to call it, it's here. I'm not sure whether to be nervous or excited. This whole journey has been amazing, to think what I didn't know when I started is just incredible to me! Now let's be clear I have no history in this area at all. I am a trained financial advisor - those were the days when I had a brain! I

I am from the Uk and have been moving back and forth between there and here for the last 4 years, but have finally put down some roots, you kind of have to with a 4 year old , 3 year old and a baby of 8 months. Have suffered with postnatal depression with my following my children's births, but am still standing, just! I am not embarrassed of that fact, it's just part of me, in fact to has made me the strong, confident person that has allowed me to follow my dream of doing this!

So here I am, sitting staring at the computer wondering if anyone (not family and friends because quite frankly they HAVE to come and have a peek) is going to stop on by, have a look and maybe buy something. I love everything that is on the site, honestly I do! and am confident you will too, but for now i'll just carry on sitting here pressing the refresh button on my computer!!!

Till next time! Tam
